Originally from Delevan, IL, Lacey graduated from ICC in Peoria, IL as an occupational therapy assistant in 2003. Upon becoming a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, she worked fulltime with children with severe and profound disabilities. The following year in 2004, Lacey was hired as Rehab Director at Generations at Lincoln in nearby Lincoln, IL, where she continued in that role until 2013. We are now excited to welcome her as Administrator at Generations at McKinley Court.
Director of Admissions
Paula Pepple is the admission director for both Generations at McKinley Court and McKinley Place, the woman who sorts through all the paperwork for our newest residents. Since 2000, Paula has been speaking with hospital representatives, explaining financial options to families, preparing records for the nursing department, helping newcomers find their best roommate and more.
“I love the challenge,” she said. “The rules are always changing, and I like seeing what’s going on. I have a passion for it.”
Her family has been touched by Alzheimer’s disease, which drove Paula into health care. Before the advent of Google, that connection motivated her to listen to the questions and fears of other families who had just received that diagnosis.
“Before the internet, people would call here just hoping to talk to someone who knew about Alzheimer’s and could give them some clues for what to expect,” Paula recalled. “I never minded taking a few minutes to help someone out. When people have the tools for something, it’s not quite as scary.”
But the flow of people checking into Generations at McKinley Court and McKinley Place is always moving forward, and Paula is always ready to make their transitions smooth.
“Health care is a maze, and sometimes people just need to talk through what they’ve been presented with,” she said.
